The Federal Trade Commission

FTC

The Federal Trade Commission was created in 1914 to “protect consumers and promote competition!” Which is great!

BUT, if you are endorsing/advertising a product or service on social media, the FTC’s regulations will also likely apply to you! Yes, you!

Make sure to check out the FTC’s Endorsement Guides and how they relate to you if you are someone that markets or endorses products or services (which means that you have been paid to post about a product, or been given something for free with the expectation of posting about said product/service). You can very easily find yourself in violation of the FTC. Failure to properly disclose an endorsement can cost you time, headaches, (and possibly even money) down the line. Questions? Email me. ⁣
