Legal Web Gem
Have a website? Check this out!
Here’s three things you need to (legally) have on your website:
1. Terms + Conditions: not technically required, but these help you - the boss babe - to protect your business & content. Terms + conditions act as the contract between you and your website users - so if there’s a dispute, these are crucial! (And posting them after-the-fact won’t do you any good once a problem arises). These also protect you from liability.
2. Privacy Policy: LEGALLY REQUIRED‼️ if you’re collecting any information whatsoever from your website users (even if you don’t think you are - you probably are) these policies must be posted on your website.
3. Disclaimer - also not necessarily required, but if you offer any sort of advice or information as part of your business, a well-written disclaimer should protect you against claims or lawsuits blaming your advice for any damages caused. These should be specifically tailored to your business!
If you don’t have these - let’s chat to get you up to speed! If you already have these, have they been approved by an attorney? I’m just keeping you honest!
