Privacy Policies
Are you making this $2,500 Privacy Policy mistake?
Does your business have a website? Do you operate business in California, AND/OR does your website reach California residents? (hint: ALL websites do!)
If so, you want to make sure you’re in compliance with just *one* of California’s many privacy policy laws: CalOPPA!
Cal OPPA [California Online Privacy Protection Act] applies to businesses operating in CA and makes it necessary to include a privacy policy on your website if you:
+ own a business
+ with an online website
+ that collects personally identifiable information from visitors to your website. (Personally identifiable information includes things like SSN, name, address, phone number, email address, etc.)
If this is you, your privacy policy will need to be conspicuously posted, and will need to include several key disclosures.
No privacy policy? Don’t worry - I can draft one up for you - OR, I have a DIY policy for sale in my templates shop! https://www.ttiemanlaw.com/taylors-templates/privacy-policy-1
