Business Licenses
Compliance is key! ⠀
⠀
A crucial part of business compliance is ensuring that you’ve filed for the appropriate business license(s). ⠀
⠀
I’m not talking about your professional license (i.e., a licensed therapist, licensed esthetician, etc.) ⠀
⠀
I’m talking BIZ-ness license. And guess what - even if you work from home...your city may still require you to apply for one! Especially here in Los Angeles and California!
⠀
In addition to whatever professional license you may need, a business license is typically required for you LEGALLY do business in your city/county/state.⠀
⠀
Depending on the type of business you are running, you may need no additional licenses, or you may need more than a handful. ⠀
⠀
If you don’t apply for the right license, you can get hit with a penalty. ⠀
⠀
What?! Yes. A penalty.⠀
⠀
This also applies to pop-up market vendors. Even if you’re selling products or services for just a couple hours in a different city, you still need to make sure that you’re in compliance with *that* city’s licensing requirements. ⠀
⠀
Sometimes the organizers of these events will provide you with the licensing and permit information you will need that day. Others won’t. ⠀
⠀
Don’t leave your legal compliance in the hands of others! Make sure you’ve taken the proper steps to protect yourself & your business. ⠀
